Who is my real friend?

A friend is someone who understands you and helps you in life.
Let's see, on which basis do you choose the people with whom you share your life? Is it because of a bad habit? On which values? To what exactly do the friends advise you?

Does it harm you in any way? Are the values you share tamasic, rajasic, or sattvic?

These are some basic questions you can ask yourself. When you spend time with your friends, is it truly because you share time with them as a person or just a habit they want to share with you?
You can look if they got tamasic, rajasic or sattvic values. This means not, that the person is "bad". Just that they choose a special set of values, and you can decide if they also apply to your life and your goals.
In Sanskrit there is a term called mitra. There are different forms of a friend.

For example, if you read our publications, you will cultivate sattvic values and a habit for learning, Learning cultivates to think, to reflect, and ultimately explore your nature, and who you are. This is behind sorrow and joy, it is just true happiness. Also, You will through this attract people that share the same values. So you Can brighten up your life.
But...how to start?

You can daily read one of the following books for around 10 minutes and try to contemplate the meaning you read before going to bed. Experience the magic of what can happen :-)
